Minimizing Volatility Exposure for Gamers

For many fully on-chain games, the difference between gamers and speculators isn't too distinct. Web 3 gamers generally intend to enjoy the price volatility of tokens more than the game resulting in loss of users when markets are down.

We at Pentachora believe that making a blockchain game for both Web 2 and Web 3 gamers will increase the survivability of blockchain games through hard times. For this to be possible, we need to minimize the volatility exposure of Gamers on not only fungible tokens but NFTs too.

As our games follow the Web 2 gaming grammar in terms of Character Summons and Growth, the secondary market price for most NFTs will be denominated by the expected value in fiat and not the fungible token price. And since the prime consumers of these NFTs are Gamers, the Speculators that wish to profit from arbitrage will denominate the price in accordance to fiat expected value of that Characters in Character summons.

Cascading Supply of NFTs

Our ecosystem will constantly burn a significant amount of NFTs through the following functions:

  1. Character Combines

  2. Burning NFTs for in-game use (On-chain <> Off-chain)

  3. Crafting

Character Combines, as explained in the "Characters and Summons" page, will have a chance to upgrade your current rarity Characters to a higher rarity Characters. Different amount of lower rarity Characters will be required to try one combine.

For example, if 10 UC Characters are required to combine a R rarity Character at 10% chance, it will be expected to require approximately 100 UC Characters. This will be the main mechanic to reduce the excess number of Characters. For even higher rarities, the number becomes exponentially larger.

Burning NFT assets including Characters, Equipment, Skins and etc, will be required to be used within your game. Especially for Characters, if the NFT that you imported to the game is the first of the kind, then it will be bound to your account until you acquire the same Character again. This will be the main mechanic to reduce the number of free flowing higher rarity Characters in circulation through real user demand.

Crafting is mostly for resources and equipment. This includes Forging, Upgrading, Milling and, Smelting, depending on what game you play. This will be for the competitive players to have the last mile of additional strength for their team.
